The EBC 3GD SeriesSportRotors are a performance oriented type of rotor designed for high-performance vehicles that need the cooling capabilities for track use or spirited driving conditions. On the surface of the rotor, you will see that it has been designed with both a drilled and slotted pattern. The dimple drilled holes absorb both heat and pad dust and repel them through the veins of the rotor, while the slots wipe the surface of the pad clean to provide an optimal contact patch under braking. EBC was an innovator ofdimpledrilling because this method allows the rotor to allow the pad to degassing without "through drilling" found in other drilled rotor designs whichpromotescracking.
The 3GD SeriesSportRotors are combined with the EBC Bluestuff NDX Race Pads which are definitely a track oriented pad designed to provide optimal braking performance in high-speed and track only conditions. This brake pad features a high friction race material that can be suitable for aggressive street driving, however, they work really great on aftermarket style calipers or modern style calipers with multi-piston systems with a better release and cooling for larger rotors.
Another great feature about the Bluestuff NDX pads is the bite in cold weather conditions with a progressive brake feel with the ability to bring the vehicle to a complete stop. EBC built the NDX pads that are bonded to the steel backing plates using multiple high strength interlock holes along with a unique chemical interlayer which provides better strength to limit the possibility of the padto plate separation.
The S6 Front Brake Kit is sold as a complete set of pads and rotors for the rear location of your vehicle to deliver optimal braking performance without having to resort to a larger big brake kit.
